Demand for qualified mental health workers in Queensland continues to grow, driven by NDIS psychosocial supports, headspace expansion and increased investment in community mental health. To meet that demand, the Queensland Government keeps the CHC43315 Certificate IV in Mental Health on the Career Boost priority list.
Who is eligible for CHC43315 funding under Career Boost?
Career Boost supports Queenslanders to develop higher-level skills at Certificate IV and above. To qualify in 2026 you generally need to:
- Be aged 15 or older and no longer at school
- Be a Queensland resident
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen or eligible visa holder
- Not have completed a Certificate IV or higher qualification in the last 10 years (school and foundation-skills qualifications excluded)
Eligibility is assessed at enrolment against the current Queensland Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET) Career Boost policy.
How fees work for CHC43315 in 2026
Career Boost covers a large share of the course cost; eligible students pay a student contribution fee. Concession pricing is available for Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or DVA Gold Card holders, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students, and students with a recognised disability.
