In 2026, the CHC43315 Certificate IV in Mental Health is funded in Queensland under the Higher Level Skills stream of Skills Assure. This article explains who qualifies, how much you'll likely pay, and how Aspire to Succeed (RTO 32555) supports your enrolment.

Why mental health qualifications are funded in 2026

Demand for qualified mental health workers in Queensland continues to grow strongly through 2026, driven by NDIS psychosocial supports, headspace expansion and post-pandemic service uplift. To meet that demand, the Queensland Government keeps the CHC43315 Certificate IV in Mental Health on the Higher Level Skills priority list.

Who is eligible for CHC43315 funding under Higher Level Skills?

Higher Level Skills sits above the Certificate III subsidy and is targeted at students upskilling into priority sectors. To qualify in 2026 you generally need to:

    • Be 15 or older and no longer at school
    • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible visa holder
    • Live or work in Queensland
    • Not already hold a Certificate IV or higher in mental health (existing qualifications in unrelated fields generally don't disqualify you)

This makes Higher Level Skills funding for CHC43315 particularly attractive if you already work in aged care, disability or community services and want to specialise in mental health.

How fees work for CHC43315 in 2026

Higher Level Skills covers a large share of the course cost; you contribute the remainder. Concession pricing is available for Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or DVA Gold Card holders, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students, and students with a recognised disability.

The current 2026 student contribution and concession amounts for CHC43315 are listed on our Skills Assure funding page.
